Between Two Tides:
Dance Film and
Documentary
In May 2024, at low-tide on Easington Beach in South Holderness, students and researchers from the University of Hull shared a time-specific performance that explored the unique entanglement of the transient geography and human occupancy on the ever-shifting South Holderness coast.
Between Two Tides utilised a choreographic, eco-scenographic and spoken-word approach to explore the rapid transformations of a site that are geological, social and environmental.
In doing so, both choreography and scenography engaged with non-invasive creative methods to take inspiration and form from the natural environment through costume, movement patterns, spoken-word and performer-manipulated fabrics.
